The CHSP is a government-funded program designed to help older Australians (65+ or 50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) live independently at home. It provides entry-level support services such as:

  • Domestic Assistance: Cleaning, laundry, and household tasks.

  • Home Maintenance: Garden care, minor repairs, and safety improvements.

  • Social Support: Community activities, outings, and companionship.

  • Transport: For shopping, medical appointments, and social events.

  • Meals & Nutrition: Meal preparation and delivery.

  • Carer Support: Respite care and tailored assistance for carers.

Eligibility requires an assessment through My Aged Care, and services are subsidised, with clients contributing based on affordability.
